On December 9, 2009 the Columbus Blue Jackets sponsored their SkillsUSA Career Day at the Nationwide Arena.  We had 52 students and 4 advisors attend the event from 1:00-4:00.  In the evening we were invited to watch the Blue Jackets hockey team take on the Florida Panthers.  We received Lower Bowl seats this year ($75.00 value).  We had a great time.

On November 11-13, 2009 twenty five of our students attended the SkillsUSA State Fall Conference.  At the conference there were over 1000 students from all over Ohio who were involved in leadership training and regional elections.  There are six regions in Ohio with Springfield-Clark CTC being a part of the southwest region.  At this conference we had six students run for regional office.  I'm happy to say that three of our students were elected.  We took three of the seven offices available at the southwest regional level.  These officers will be attending a week long training on January 17-22, 2010 in Leesburg Va., which will include a visit to our nation’s capitol.  On January 20, 2010 all of the regional officers will meet with their national representatives and congressman.  The following students were elected.
